
Noémie Issan-Benchimol is completing her Ph.D. in Religious Studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE-Paris). Her doctoral research focuses on judicial oaths in tannaitic literature from a comparative and multidisciplinary perspective. She graduated from the École Normale Supérieure with a degree in Philosophy and holds a Master's degree in Ancient Philosophy from the Sorbonne, as well as a Master's degree in Historical and Philological Sciences with a specialization in Medieval Studies from EPHE. Her current research interests lie in the anthropology and philosophy of law, with particular emphasis on the French school of legal anthropology (Durkheim, Davy, Lucien Lévy-Bruhl) and the role of Roman law as a model (Henri Lévy-Bruhl)
